Society is expanding again, and this time, it’s outside.

A coffee shop by day and a cocktail lounge by night, Society Coffee Bar has become a hotspot in Somerset for gathering with friends.

Now, Debra and Keith Viveiros look to create an even better atmosphere with a cozy patio that perfectly pairs with the vibe of Society’s interior.

Society Coffee Bar Continues to Evolve

Just like any good business, Society started as a good idea. Keith Viveiros always dreamed of having a “secret society” of like-minded individuals, and he channeled that energy into a coffee bar in Taunton’s Milestone Realty.

Soon, that good idea turned into a full-fledged coffee lounge in Somerset, with a stellar selection of coffee, locally sourced menu items and a delicious cocktail menu starting at 11 a.m.

While offering both coffee and cocktails, Keith Viveiros noticed that there wasn’t much overlap between the coffee drinkers and cocktail lovers. He hopes customers will pull up a chair and stay awhile in the new outdoor patio.

What to Expect from the New Patio

“We’re so excited to put this together,” Viveiros said. “It’s something we’ve been working on for months.”

A 1,500-square-foot patio will sit just outside the entrance with tables surrounding a giant fire pit and enclosed by white oak walls. The sleek and modern aesthetic of the interior will trickle out into the patio to create a cozy and sophisticated vibe.

“We’re going to incorporate the same design elements, like the octogen tiles, and make it a cool hang-out spot for people,” Viveiros said.

Viveiros also has plans to expand the food menu and incorporate acoustic music before 10 p.m.

If all goes according to plan, expect the new patio at Society to open by the end of September.
