For the first time ever, Roger Williams Park Zoo will offer sensory friendly hours at the Jack O'Lantern Spectacular.

Parents asked and Roger Williams Park Zoo answered yes. Now there will be sensory friendly nights at the Jack O'Lantern Spectacular.

According to the zoo's Facebook page, the sensory friendly nights will be November 1st through the 4th from 5 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Those with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and sensory processing differences and their families will be able to take in the glowing pumpkins in a much more subdued manner.

Though the pumpkins will all still be lit up and glowing, none of the music or special effects will be used during that hour to keep the event from becoming overwhelming.

Parents were thrilled about the news and thanked the zoo for making it possible for all kids to check out the event this year.

Tickets for the sensory nights are already available for purchase online and the zoo reminds Jack O'Lantern Spectacular goers that the event is rain or shine and there are no refunds or rescheduling.
