Roger Williams Park Zoo is opening up their Big Backyard on select days this summer for Rise & Play sessions designed for kids with special sensory needs.

The Rise & Play sessions are specifically designed for children who have special sensory sensitivities and may otherwise not be able to enjoy Roger Williams' Big Backyard play area. The Rise & Play sessions, which happens on June 5, July 3 and August 7 from 9-10 a.m., give guests a chance to play in nature, build mudpies, play in the stream and enjoy it all with a much smaller group of people.

In addition to the outdoor play area, there will be an indoor carpeted area for those who may need a little extra quiet time.

Children 2-12 are $12.95, seniors (65+) are $15.95 and adults are $17.95.
