Making memories with the entire family this summer can be affordable, especially with the Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival not too far away.

Happening at gardens all over the Cape July 8-17, here's a way to not only explore, get some amazing selfies, enjoy workshops on plant care led by horticulturists and watch painting demonstrations by local artists.

The best part: Tours are $5 per person, per garden, and you can pay when you arrive. So, you only pay for the gardens you explore.

You may need more than one day as there are lots of gardens to visit. While you may not want to go to the gardens in the rain the private garden tours happen rain or shine between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

That means all the gorgeous flowering plants you can handle -- and then some.

"This 10-day festival's main attractions are the daily tours of private gardens, each designed and maintained by the individual homeowners and carrying a unique charm," the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce said. "You are sure to enjoy such eclectic spaces, not to mention the good feeling of supporting a variety of local nonprofits which will benefit from the proceeds of each tour."

The chamber, which has a full events calendar on its website, is asking visitors to tag @CapeCodHydrangeaFest in Facebook and Instagram posts of the beautiful displays.

I'm so ready for a trip and lots of pictures for my Instagram stories.
