FALL RIVER — The search for a man who allegedly jumped from the Braga Bridge Thursday afternoon has been called off, and no body has been recovered.

The Fall River Fire Department has confirmed to WBSM News the search was officially suspended Friday afternoon with no body yet found.

The search began Thursday afternoon after State Police received a report of an abandoned car on the bridge, and witnesses had reported seeing a white male, approximately 30 years old, climb the fence and jump into the water.

Numerous local, state and multiple U.S. Coast Guard authorities searched for several hours Thursday, continuing the search into Friday until it was called off in the late afternoon.
