Santa Claus Is Coming to Acushnet on Sunday
You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout and I'll tell you why: Santa Claus is coming to Acushnet on Sunday.
As part of a motorized public safety parade that is being put on by the Acushnet Fire & EMS Department on Sunday, December 6, there will be a very special guest in attendance whom you might recognize as old Saint Nick. Starting at 1 p.m., Santa will be making his way throughout the streets of Acushnet on his firetruck "sleigh."
The parade will be kicking off on South Main Street and will proceed to the following:
- Main St.
- Lake St.
- Peckham St.
- Blueberry Dr.
- Back to Peckham St.
- Bow Dr.
- Middle Rd.
- Reservation Rd.
- Park Dr.
- Nyes Ln.
- Back to Middle Rd.
- Back to Main St.
- Hathaway Rd.
- Mendall Rd.
- Perry Hill Rd.
- Back to Main St.
- Finished at the Fire Station
If you miss Santa on your street, this should help you follow his trail across Acushnet. After the parade, the fire station will be hosting a Christmas light display at 6 p.m. but will feel a little different this year as the sing-a-long caroling is canceled due to COVID.
The town is being asked to avoid group gatherings for your own safety, at least for the time being. With everything that has happened in 2020, it's nice to see a glimpse of normalcy. I'm talking about the big jolly guy in the red coat who always knows how to brighten the spirit of the holiday season.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all and to all a good parade.
