A 19-year-old Rhode Island man faces a felony after driving into a flock of seagulls.

The Westerly Sun reports that Hunter Latham of Westerly was at Misquamicut State Beach on Sunday when he used his car to kill several seagulls.

Witnesses say Latham actually reved his engine before speeding towards the flock in the beach's parking lot and killing three seagulls.

The police report says Lathan told an officer that he thought it

would be funny to drive through a flock of seagulls, scare them and watch them fly away."

He apparently didn't think he would hit the gulls and did turn himself in for a charge of maliciously killing or wounding animals.

Lathan has been released pending a court date.
