Rhode Island Grad Student Will Compete on New Season of ‘Survivor’
A Rhode Island college student will be featured as a contestant on the next season of Survivor and is giving us a chance to learn a little more about her ahead of the season premiere.
It's crazy to think that Survivor is about to air its 48th season, which will feature Brown University graduate student Eva Erickson.
Erickson is just 23 years old but is a very accomplished woman and surely has a chance at winning this season.
Erickson is not from Rhode Island – she's actually from Minnesota – but is pursuing a graduate engineering degree at Brown. She really loves nature and previously studied physics at Georgia Tech.
She not only excels with her studies but has been a record-breaking and award-winning hockey player. She also was the lone girl on the Georgia Tech hockey team.
The new season of Survivor is going to be taken place in Fiji, which is where Erickson is right now and confessed she is a new fan of Survivor.

She only recently got into the show because her fellow collegemates would do a Survivor drinking game.
Erickson clearly has gotten the full college experience and is both mentally and physically ready to possibly win Survivor. The true challenge will be her capability to work through the social politics of the show. Erickson is also open about her struggle with autism.
While Survivor Season 48 starts on February 26 and is already filming. Meanwhile, Erickson has already been tapped as the hockey team captain for next year when she returns back to Brown to finish her PhD. She had been preparing for this show by changing her eating habits leading up to heading out to Fiji.
We are crossing out fingers for you, Eva, and can't wait to watch you on TV.
