Just when you thought The Strand lineup couldn’t get any hotter, Shaggy has officially entered the chat.

The Grammy-winning reggae fusion star — yes, the voice behind “It Wasn’t Me,” “Angel,” and the forever-iconic “Boombastic” — is heading to Providence’s Strand Ballroom & Theatre for what should be a straight-up feel-good throwback party.

Speaking of throwbacks, longtime Fun 107 listeners might remember when Shaggy actually headlined one of our Monster Mash shows back in the day. According to Michael Rock, one of the biggest surprises was hearing his real speaking voice — apparently way more polished and proper than the gritty tone he leans into when he sings. Who knew?

From Monster Mash Memories to Providence Stage

Shaggy will hit The Strand on Friday, March 13, 2026, with doors opening at 8 p.m. It’s an 18+ show, and he’s bringing a stacked lineup of special guests including Tanto Metro & Devonte, Tifa, Teejay, Jay Banks and Pritty Di General.

If you’ve ever seen Shaggy live, you already know this isn’t just a concert. It’s basically a tropical escape planted right in downtown Providence.

Ticket Details Before They’re Gone

Tickets run roughly $33.15 to $74 depending on section, with options ranging from standing-room general admission on the floor to VIP stage-front access and reserved mezzanine seating for anyone who prefers a more laid-back vantage point. Like most Strand shows, availability can vary by section, so if this is on your radar, jumping on tickets sooner rather than later is probably the smart play.

Providence, Don’t Say “It Wasn’t Me”

Between the nostalgia, island vibes and a venue that always brings strong energy, this one feels like a guaranteed good time. Whether you’re going for the throwback hits or just an excuse for a night out in Providence, Shaggy showing up at The Strand is about as boombastic as it gets.
