Wareham’s Percy’s Place Puts Gazelle to the 6-Egg, 60-Second Test [VIDEO]
Let me tell you, there’s something about Restaurant Week that brings out the inner beast – and the inner feast.
Earlier today, I took on a mild challenge involving a plate full of eggs and a stopwatch. The MGM Show was broadcasting live from Percy’s Place in Wareham – the restaurant known for its all-you-can-eat eggs for just $8.99. This deal is served up at all five locations: Wareham, Middleboro, Kingston, Dartmouth and Falmouth.
Sure, the slow-cooked six-hour hash and homemade cornbread are a big draw, but for me, it’s all about the eggs. All-you-can-eat eggs? That’s my jam. Let’s not forget the two sides included. Jackpot.

“Even with the rising cost of eggs, people are still shocked that we keep it going, but it’s a crowd favorite,” owner Josh Fazio said. “There’s a couple of guys from Dartmouth, ‘The Dartmouth Duo,’ who come in and pack down 30-40 eggs between them. Just the other day, I was cooking at the Middleboro location, and someone ate 25 eggs in one sitting.”
I accepted the challenge of eating six eggs in 60 seconds. I went with over-easy – 10 seconds per egg – and prepped them with Frank’s RedHot sauce for an extra kick.
“This is what Restaurant Week is all about,” Michael Rock said.
Michaela Johnson started the countdown: “3, 2, 1, go!”
Immediately, just as I expected, yolk was all over my beard as I tried to down each egg without the squishy center bursting. By the time I got to the fourth egg, I could taste the finish line, and a champion was about to rise.
“Done!” I shouted, and the place went wild.
My final time was 38.97 seconds, and honestly, it was easier than I expected. I’m not sure whether to be proud or a little ashamed, but looking back, I’m thinking 10 eggs in a minute might be my true threshold.
I’m not saying you should try this challenge, but you should take advantage of the $8.99 egg deal. There’s nowhere else that can match it.
