Well, the most important question about Wild Card Weekend for New England Patriots fans has been answered. It is not about the time slot of the Patriots game, although the 8 p.m. kickoff is not ideal for early birds like me.

The big question is not even who the Pats will be playing. We now know that they will face the Los Angeles Chargers, who finished the regular season at 11-6.

It is also not the condition of the Chargers injured quarterback, Justin Herbert. Herbert had surgery on his broken left arm last month and did not miss any games until he was strategically rested yesterday in what was a meaningless game for the Bolts.

No, the big question was which network would carry the Patriots Wild Card game this weekend. Thankfully for Verizon Fios customers, the answer is NBC. You will be able to watch Drake Maye’s first postseason game on NBC10 in the Boston and Providence markets. Those NBC stations are still being carried by Verizon Fios.

Why Fox 25 Is Missing on Verizon Fios Right Now

The same cannot be said for Boston 25. For weeks, the Fox affiliate has been beefing with Verizon Fios over how much it should be paid to provide content to Fios viewers. This is not the first time these two have battled. They went through the same conflict three years ago. It is no coincidence that both incidents happened during peak NFL season.

Here on the SouthCoast, this mostly affects viewers in Plymouth County.

Boston 25 parent company Cox Media Group and Verizon Fios are now playing another game of chicken, and Patriots fans are the ones losing. Here’s hoping they figure it out again before the Divisional Round games the following weekend.
