Patriots Finding New Life Behind Drake Maye and a Stronger Defense
The New England Patriots are finding new life behind Drake Maye and have clawed their way to the top of the AFC East at 4-2. That's a place Patriots fans haven’t seen since the Brady years. Fun 107 Patriots analyst Nick Coit joined The MGM Show to break down how the second-year quarterback has completely changed the team’s outlook.
“I’m pleasantly surprised at just how much Drake Maye has grown this year,” Coit said. “He makes plays that wow you, and that gives everyone hope.”
Coit credited a steadier offensive line and an improving defense for the team’s early success. With the NFL’s easiest remaining schedule in decades, he said the path is clear for New England to stay in the playoff race if the Buffalo Bills continue to stumble.
Overcoming Bad Calls and Building Confidence
Coit addressed last week’s controversial officiating, which saw multiple questionable penalties. “It was the first time I ever thought someone called this in,” Coit admitted.
Instead of unraveling, the Patriots regrouped and finished strong. “They didn’t complain. They just kept playing and that’s great to see,” he said.
Vrabel’s Homecoming and Coit’s Game Prediction
As head coach Mike Vrabel returns to face his former team, the Tennessee Titans, Coit expects his players to rally behind him. With the Titans in disarray, he predicts a 31–14 Patriots win.
Fantasy Sleeper of the Week
For fantasy players, Coit’s sleeper pick of the week is the Patriots’ defense: “The Titans lead the league in sacks allowed and are tied for third in turnovers. This could be a big week for the Pats' D," he said.
