Massachusetts no longer offers free college tuition for seniors, but there are still a few perks left for us "golden agers" to enjoy.

SeniorLiving.org provides a comprehensive listing of senior discounts and savings, some available to folks as young as 55 years old, including retail, restaurants, grocery chains, travel, and more.

AAA, AARP, AMAC, and the American Seniors Association are just a few member groups that provide senior discounts and savings.

One of my favorite senior perks is my America the Beautiful - The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Senior Pass. The lifetime pass costs $80 and provides free lifetime access to more than 2,000 recreation sites managed by six federal agencies, including our amazing national parks.

The senior pass is available to folks 62 years of age and older.

My next favorite perk is the Massachusetts Senior Parking Pass. Massachusetts residents aged 62 or older are eligible for a discounted lifetime parking pass. This pass covers the cost of parking at most state parks, including Horseneck Beach in Westport and Demarest Lloyd State Park in Dartmouth.

The cost of the lifetime parking pass is $10 and must be obtained by mail. Here is how to secure your senior parking pass.

I wrote a fairly comprehensive piece about all of this last year.

Be forewarned, it could take a month or more for your senior parking pass to be processed, so order early to be sure you are ready for spring when parking fees kick in for the season.
