Padanaram Holiday Stroll Offers Perfect Way to Welcome the Season
The Padanaram Holiday Stroll is coming up in a few weeks.
The streets of Padanaram Village in South Dartmouth will be all dressed in festive décor. Village businesses will brim with one-of-a-kind treasures, inviting you to find that perfect gift while supporting the heart of the Padanaram community.
If you've never been to the Padanaram Holiday Stroll it really can be a recreation of a Norman Rockwell painting. Picture it. The snow starts to fall from the sky and you zip up your jacket a bit more to block the chilling winds off the water. Luckily, a warm sense of holiday cheer is in the air. Everywhere you look, you can feel a sense of magic and joy.
On Dec. 1, 5 to 8 p.m., Padanaram transforms into a winter wonderland that's nothing short of enchanting.
Gather by the Maritime Center for the 3rd Annual Buoy Tree Lighting. This isn't your average tree, it's a beacon of coastal charm adorned with hand-painted buoys that tell a story of community and creativity. Does it get any more SouthCoast than that?
Who paints the buoys, you ask? From kids to seniors, parents to students, all are welcome to contribute their artistry. Buoys are now available in personal and business sizes. Buy your buoys at the Anne Whiting Office and drop off your masterpieces by November 19th at the Maritime Center.
As the tree lights up the night, so begins the buoy auction, a creative endeavor in which the highest bidders can take home a piece of Padanaram's heart. The proceeds from this auction will go to the Friends of Jack Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of children across the SouthCoast.
The Padanaram Holiday Stroll is more than just an event, it's a community gathering that embodies the essence of the holiday season — joy, generosity and communal celebration. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this event is a delightful way to kick off the Christmas festivities. So mark your calendars for Dec. 1 and prepare to stroll through Padanaram in true holiday style.
