New Gillette Stadium Concert Train Schedule Leaves Providence Lacking
Concert season is heating up in Southern New England, with plenty of outdoors shows planned from May through September.
Just like last summer, amazing acts will be taking over some of our biggest sports venues like Gillette Stadium and Fenway Park. Just like last summer, trains will be an option for arriving at Gillette Stadium shows.
But this season, not every show will have the same train service.

Seems this summer's partnership between the MBTA Commuter Rail and Keolis does not include the same train opportunities for the same cities.

MBTA Special Event Train Service For 2025
A press release from the MBTA recently shared the shows trains would be provided for:
- AC/DC Power Up Tour (May 4)
- Kendrick Lamar Grand National Tour (May 12)
- Post Malone Presents: The BIG ASS Stadium Tour (May 31)
- The Weeknd After Hours Til Dawn Tour (June 10 & June 11)
- George Strait Stadium Tour (June 21)
- Coldplay Music of the Spheres World Tour (July 15 & July 16)
- Morgan Wallen I’m The Problem Tour (Aug. 22 & Aug. 23)
But here's the catch.
Train service doesn't run from both Boston and Providence for every show.

Which Gillette Stadium Concerts Will Have Trains Out of Providence?
For each of the seven acts performing at Gillette Stadium this summer, fans from the Boston area will have the option of riding the commuter rail to the show. Yet for fans who would ride the Providence line, only some of the shows will have train service.
If you are planning to see Kendrick Lamar and SZA on May 12, The Weeknd of June 10 & 11 or Coldplay on July 15 & 16, you will not be able to catch a train from Providence. For those three shows, only Boston lines will be bringing fans to the concert.
Perhaps the MBTA knows something about ticket holders that we do not and feels the need for a train out of Providence to these shows is not necessary. We're sure many SouthCoast concertgoers will feel differently about the slight in service, since taking the train can be so much easier.
How and When To Buy Tickets For Gillette Stadium Concert Trains
For now anyone looking to take the train to a show this season will have to check back on the MBTA website two weeks prior to show dates.
The company says round-trip tickets will be $20 and go on sale beginning at 11 A.M. two weeks before each show date exclusively via the mTicket app. If it is a weekend show however, tickets go on sale at 11 A.M. on the Friday leading up to the weekend two weeks before the concert.
