New Bedford Waterfront Street Closures Planned for Friday Morning

There will be some temporary street closures in the area along New Bedford’s waterfront Friday morning, January 27.

Route 18/JFK Boulevard and MacArthur Drive will have temporary closures in the vicinity of the New Bedford Foss Marine Terminal, which is being constructed at the former Eversource site.

The former power plant and smokestack on that site are being demolished to make way for further construction of the marine terminal.

The temporary closures will take place between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. and will happen at the following locations:

MacArthur Drive at Walnut Street (southbound)
Route 18/JFK Boulevard at Walnut Street (southbound)
Route 18/JFK Boulevard at Griffin Court (northbound)
MacArthur Drive at Griffin Court (northbound)
