The maxim "One hand washes the other" is an appropriate expression for the Veterans Transition House in New Bedford making public a philanthropic partnership with Fairhaven's profishant, Inc., a successful veteran-owned pest control and food safety consulting business.

Veterans Transition House Executive Director Jim Reid said the nonprofit will be the beneficiary of profishant, Inc's. Quarterly Home Protection Plan.

"We've experienced a lot of growth in outreach to veterans and services post-COVID, so this partnership is very important to us," Reid said.

In March, the VTH received an initial donation of $1,000 from profishant, Inc. to launch this alliance, with the understanding that VTH will receive one dollar for every Quarterly Home Protection Plan service performed in 2023, with quarterly contributions, making it a corporate sponsor of the Veterans of the Year Award.

"It's not just an honor to be in a position to give back, but it's ingrained in who we are at profishant. And not just myself, but everyone on our team," said Andrew Sievers, ACE of profishant, Inc. "I once asked my mentor, Ken Martin, U.S. Air Force veteran, why he helped me so much. He told me, when you can, you do. Right now, we can. The Veterans Transition House is doing wonderful things for veterans and we are honored to help them do what they do."

"Andrew came to us as a business owner and U.S. Navy veteran with a determination to give back to veterans locally," Reid said. "And now, profishant, Inc., is committed to making an important charitable contribution, in addition to providing valuable in-kind services and prioritizing the hiring of veterans."

Profishant has grown 35 percent each year for the past five years with more than 3,000 home services performed in 2022.

"The fact that a veteran-owned local company has stepped forward to raise money for the Veterans Transition House establishes an exciting precedent. Bravo Zulu, profishant," said David Guertin, Fundraising Development.
