New Bedford’s Smashed NB Announces Big South End Expansion
New Bedford’s burger scene is about to level up.
Smashed NB, the popular Pleasant Street smash-burger spot, is officially expanding to the South End with a brand-new second location. Owner Brandon Sadeck said this next chapter will be unlike anything he’s done before.
While he’s keeping the exact address under wraps for now, Sadeck confirmed that the wheels are already turning. He picked up the keys just last week and has been “demolishing everything” inside as the new space gets prepped for a target opening in February or March 2026. If all goes well, he hopes to beat that timeline.
The best part: this new version of Smashed NB will be built with families in mind.
A Family-Friendly Vision for the South End
Sadeck was honest about why he chose to expand: families love his food, but not everyone wants to navigate the challenges of downtown. Parking, foot traffic, and late-night activity have made Pleasant Street a tougher environment than he’d like.
“I want families to have somewhere they can go and feel comfortable and safe and park,” he said. “That’s why I’m doing this second location.”
The new South End spot will flip the script: not just takeout, but a sit-down dining experience where kids can grab a burger or milkshake on their way to the beach. Sadeck wants the vibe to feel like a family-friendly, modern hangout where people can enjoy great food and relax together.
Same Menu, Fresh Atmosphere
Good news: it will be the same smash-burger favorites they’ve come to love on Pleasant Street, with the potential for a few menu expansions as the space takes shape.

Sadeck’s goal is to create an atmosphere that feels welcoming, clean, and new – a total refresh from the building’s previous life.
A Modern Look and Plenty of Parking
The new location will offer something the Pleasant Street shop can’t: ample parking.
“I want it to be the kind of place where kids can grab ice cream, eat a burger, and go have fun with their family,” Sadeck said.
More details will roll out in the coming months, and when the doors officially open, we’ll bring you a full first look inside.
For now, the South End can only sit tight, because something big is cooking.
