A New Bedford school has ranked in the Top 50 of over 2,000 high schools here in Massachusetts.

Of the 2,000 schools in Massachusetts Global Learning Charter School in New Bedford has ranked 44 on Buccareer.com! In evaluating the Top 50 schools, the site takes a few different things into consideration, like class sizes, diversity, and opportunities.  Global Learning offers a 12:1 student to teacher ratio which gives students a lot of individualized attention. The schools diversity receives high ranks. The student body of 508 is made up of 46% male and 55% female, while the total minority enrollment is 47%. They also have a 60% AP Participation rate.

Global Learning Charter School also has an active after school community, with 62% of the students participating in extra curricular activities including DREAM FAR, Drama Club, Chess Club, Karate, and Little Dresses for Africa. You can read about the rest of their activities here

The tuition free charter school has roughly 500 students between grades 5-12.  The school announced yesterday that ten seniors have been notified that they have earned early admission acceptance to a total of 18 colleges and universities.  The school tells Fun 107, "Many have several institutions to choose from, and all of them are now assured that college is in their future."
