Wet Nose Wednesday is my favorite day of the week on Fun 107 because we aim to make a difference in the lives of animals that are up for adoption.

We all love our four-legged friends, but there are still many animals that are waiting to feel the love of a forever family.

Hundreds of animals on the SouthCoast are waiting patiently to be adopted, and each week, we team up with local shelters to give one lucky animal the spotlight.

This week, we head to Lighthouse Animal Shelter in New Bedford to meet an eager pup that is ready to be your best friend for life.

Meet Lana.

Lana is an energetic one-and-a-half-year-old Pointer mix who is bursting at the seams with happiness. She enjoys chasing toys around the yard and has a very silly personality.

"She is ready for adventure and is looking for an active family to let her explore new places," said the shelter.

Lana loves being the center of attention and giving love to whoever will accept it, but she will need obedience training. The shelter admits she gets a little "mouthy" when she's excited.

She simply wants everyone to know how excited she is, which is easily fixed by a little training.

Due to her energy level, she shouldn't be in a home with small children but she could be a lot of fun for teenagers who want a play companion.

Does Lana sound like a good fit for you and your family? Contact Lighthouse Animal Shelter to schedule a play date.

If SouthCoast Dogs Had a Dating App, It Would Look Something Like This

August 26 is International Dog Day, and it got me thinking. What if there was a way for dogs to connect with other dogs in the area to make new friends? Or maybe even find love? Twenty-six dogs living on the SouthCoast sent me their profile picture and bio. Let's see the eligible pups.
