An Oversized Stuffed Unicorn Was Left at a Construction Site in New Bedford
This is the second weirdest thing that caught my eye in New Bedford just this month.
A few weeks ago, I discovered a random pair of pants dangling from a branch by the octopus intersection downtown. Just so you're aware, those jeans are still in the same spot.
Now, to end the month, there's a giant stuffed unicorn chilling by a construction site down the road, as in within walking distance of the pants, and I'm kind of speechless.
I could see this colorful pony from afar as I took the Purchase Street exit off of Route 18 on my way home. Normally, I would take a left at the stop sign to head home, but I simply had to get a closer look so I took the right. I wasn't hallucinating. Sure as day, there was the largest stuffed unicorn I've ever seen.
I'm not a fan of people who litter, even when that litter is a joy-inducing unicorn. Also, it's on a construction site, the one where that Route 18-spanning pedestrian bridge is being installed. Lord knows that unicorn doesn't belong to any of those construction workers.
What's the story behind this?
If this unicorn was meant to go to a better home, then it should have been dropped off at a thrift store or donated to a school, not placed by a bright orange sign that reads "RIGHT SHOULDER CLOSED."
If anyone is missing a unicorn, or knows who might have misplaced it, you can find it on Purchase Street by all the construction. You're welcome.
