I used to think T.K.O. Malley’s closing down was a tragedy in Dartmouth – until Buster’s shut its doors for good.

Sure, T.K.’s had great wings, but once Buster’s came onto the scene, I was all in on their pizza, and I know I wasn’t alone.

Every Tuesday was sacred for foodies and pizza lovers: $4.99 one-topping pizza. Man, I miss Pizza Tuesdays.

During a recent live broadcast at Knuckleheads in New Bedford (where everyone knows one), something caught my attention.

The MGM Show was treated to an eye-opening feast for Lent, proving there’s a whole other world beyond just fish and chips. Yeah, they have that too, but so much more.

We sampled seafood platters that could easily be shared, a seafood scampi with a buttery yet subtle white wine finish, and even their famous Scrod Mozambique – a perfect Portuguese touch for “no meat Fridays.”

While waiting for our feast to arrive, Michaela Johnson asked for what we were all secretly craving: fried pickles.

That’s when it happened.

Manager Andy Bois started listing off dipping sauces when I heard the three words I thought were lost forever: Boom. Boom. Sauce.

I’m here to tell you, the OG Buster’s Boom Boom Sauce is alive and well, and you can find it at Knuckleheads.

This is not a drill.

Sure, the regulars at Knuckleheads have known about this for years, but I’m here to spread the word to anyone who hasn’t. Trust me, this sauce is worth the drive.

It makes sense, though, since Buster’s was run by the same team behind Knuckleheads. Between Paul Souza and Mark and John Stone, a delicious piece of Buster’s still lives on.

Pro tip: order the seafood platter and get a side of that magical Boom Boom Sauce for dipping. Your taste buds will thank me later.
