If you've ever watched Hot Ones and thought I could handle that, now’s your chance to prove it, right here in New Bedford.

There's a catch, though: you can only get it to go.

Ghost kitchens are popping up everywhere, and one just so happens to be hiding in plain sight at 780 Purchase Street, home to Pour Farm Tavern. Order through the DoorDash, Grubhub or Uber Eats apps, and you’ll unlock a lineup of fiery sauces straight from the show.

This isn’t the first time I’ve come across a ghost kitchen on the SouthCoast; remember MrBeast Burger in Dartmouth?

I stopped by and chatted with Pour Farm co-owner Jen Cardoza, who confirmed the ghost kitchen and even let me take on the challenge firsthand. Five sauces (out of seven total), five levels of heat. Here’s how it went down:

  • Garlic Fresno: a sneaky 60-second burn that catches you off guard.
  • Los Calientes Verde: mild and flavorful with a slow, warm afterburn.
  • Classic Hot Sauce: think Frank’s Red Hot, but leveled up.
  • Los Calientes BBQ: just enough heat to make your nose run, but packed with flavor.
  • The Last Dab: Pure pain. Just don’t.

Pour Farm’s fresh, smoked wings are the perfect pairing for the sauces – delicious on their own but even better with a kick.

You can also grab chicken sandwiches and fries, but remember, it’s all takeout-only through DoorDash, Grubhub and Uber Eats.

The ghost kitchen operates daily from 12 p.m. to 8:25 p.m., so if you’re feeling brave, give it a shot.

Just be careful around the eyes. Trust me on that.

The Best of South Shore Bar Pizza

There's pizza, and then there's South Shore Bar Pizza. Birthed in Brockton (and to this writer, perfected in Randolph – Lynwood Café is the true G.O.A.T.), it must meet certain qualifications to be considered "SSBP," which include: it's a 10-inch pie; it has a thin, cracker-like crust with minimal "flop;" the cheese is a blend that features more cheddar than mozzarella; and bonus points if you take it home between two carboard-type plates wrapped in flat brown paper bag. They also usually come with "laced" or "burnt" edges (terminology depends on where you are ordering), which is when the sauce and cheese are extended all the way to the edge of the pan, creating a crispy, flavorful coating to the crust. We reached out to the hugely popular South Shore Bar Pizza Social Club Facebook group to ask the experts to share the best of the best (in no particular order).
