New Bedford’s High Point Assists Those Fighting Addiction [TOWNSQUARE SUNDAY]
The problems with drugs in New Bedford have been well-documented over the years, but sadly for many people in the city, they are still a part of their everyday lives.
One of the many organizations dealing with the addiction problem is High Point Treatment Center in New Bedford.
High Point recently opened a fully-certified behavioral clinic at 68 North Front Street. Outreach Coordinator Tara Pacheco said the clinic offers a wide variety of services including treatment planning, outpatient mental health and substance use disorder services, and peer support and counseling.
Pacheco said the clinic serves all individuals, regardless of their ability to pay. She added that the clinic is also working with a number of homeless people with addictions, hoping to stabilize their lives and start them on the road to recovery.
Tara talked about the clinic, and the services it provides on this week's Townsquare Sunday program. Her interview can be heard here:
Townsquare Sunday is a weekly public affairs program heard Sunday mornings at 6 and 11 a.m. on 1420 WBSM. The program spotlights individuals and organizations that are working to make the SouthCoast a better place to live and work.
