New Bedford Fast Ferry Parking Shifts Ahead of Summer Season
With the South Coast Rail now fully operational, the busy Whale’s Tooth parking lot in New Bedford has transitioned to serve MBTA commuters—leaving many wondering: where do Seastreak Fast Ferry passengers park now?
I'm glad you asked, because we spoke with Ethan, a customer service representative with Seastreak, to get answers before the busy travel season kicks off.
New Location for Summer Ferry Parking
Ethan confirmed that Seastreak has officially moved its public parking lot to a new location at 180 MacArthur Drive in New Bedford. This new lot will serve passengers traveling to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket throughout the summer months.
“This new lot isn’t just for employees,” Ethan clarified. “It’s specifically for our summer ferry passengers. Since the Whale’s Tooth lot is now part of the MBTA’s South Coast Rail project, we had to shift things a bit further down the street.”

A More Modern Parking Experience
In addition to the new location, Seastreak is rolling out a streamlined parking system for travelers. “It’s all text-to-park now,” Ethan said. “You’ll find a QR code posted in the parking lot. Just scan it with your phone to pay.”
For those looking for added convenience, valet parking remains an option as well so you can board your scheduled ferry time accordingly, especially if you're running behind.
So whether you’re planning a weekend escape or a full vacation to the islands, Seastreak has your parking situation covered. Just be sure to head to the new lot on MacArthur Drive before you set sail.
