NEW BEDFORD — A New Bedford woman is arrested after losing control of her car in Thursday night's snowstorm.

Several New Bedford Police officers were on Potter Street at around 11:15 p.m. Thursday night assisting motorists in the storm when they observed a westbound vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.

Police say the car spun out of control.

When it came to a stop, police checked on the driver, and determined that she was under the influence of alcohol.

Police also noticed that the vehicle had previously sustained damage consistent with a crash involving a utility pole or a tree.

The driver, Emma Price, 23, of New Bedford, was reportedly combative with police as they attempted to arrest her.

Price was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of property damage, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and resisting arrest.
