New Bedford Cumberland Farms Steps Up Their Food Game
New Bedford's North End Cumberland Farms is stepping up their food game. Maybe they felt it was necessary with neighbors like Pa Raffa's and Hong Kong Restaurant, but whatever they reason, they are leveling up. If you are a fan of foods like pizza, wings, and burgers you might be a happy camper.
Acushnet Avenue drivers can expect to see a new lineup of food that includes some new brands to Cumberland Farms: Alanza Pizza, Burger Baby and Wing Trip. Cumby's describes the food options as "delicious, restaurant-quality, on-demand meals that guests can order either in-store or using DoorDash."
It seems as if the New Bedford location is a prototype. "This program is starting in our New Bedford location. Hopefully we will be rolling out more soon. I don't know any other convenient stores or gas stations that are offering this type of food anywhere else," said Project Manager Hannah Sigel.
What About Other SouthCoast Cumberland Farms?
It appears that the Acushnet Ave location is being used as a Beta test site. The company says they have plans to roll out the new food lineup to other locations.
What Will the New Foods Be Like?
Alanza Pizza is described as "tender, slightly crispy crust and crave worthy toppings." Burger Baby will feature smash burgers with truffle aioli and sweet-and-tangy barbecue sauce. The chicken wings at Wing Trip will combine classic chicken wing flavors like Buffalo and Lemon Pepper. Wing Trip will also feature Spicy Miso, Tandoori and Nashville Hot flavors.
When Will The New Foods Be Available?
They have already arrived. The new food selections have been available in the New Bedford location for a few weeks.
