New Bedford Creative Awarded Sizeable Grants for the Arts

The New Bedford Creative just awarded grants to over 30  projects to continue to foster growth and creativity for many of our local artists.

This past week, several New Bedford city officials were present when the New Bedford Creative awarded $156,000 in grants to local organizations that foster artistic collaboration within the city of New Bedford.

The New Bedford Economic Development Council is always looking for ways to uplift and support the city's culture and creative projects through the New Bedford Creative and this definitely shows their dedication to doing just that.

Some of the amazing organizations that were award grants are AHA New Bedford- AHA Moments, City of New Bedford's Arts in The Parks, and the New Bedford Film Festival just to name a few of the 31 recipients of the "Art Is Everywhere" grant program.

There are two initiatives that will also be funded including the Manifest Voice Intercultural Writing Club and Flora B. Peirce Nature Trail Revitalization which will breathe new life into New Bedford's first public nature trail with sculptures and other art pieces.

This grant program supports projects that address important issues faced by New Bedford residents, visitors and businesses. It's one of the many grant programs they have.

This particular grant program is funded by the City Arts, Culture, and Tourism Fund,  Mass Cultural Council’s Cultural District Initiative, and the National Endowment for the Arts’ Grants for Arts Projects program. Additional funding is provided by the Barr Foundation, Bristol County Savings Bank, The Leonard and Hilda Kaplan Charitable Foundation, Schrafft Charitable Trust, and SouthCoast Community Foundation. 

It's an astounding investment on so many programs within the city that shouldn't go unnoticed.
