New Bedford Bay Sox Players Need Host Families
Spring is back, and so is baseball. Before you know it, the crack of the bat will be heard once again across the SouthCoast. The New Bedford Bay Sox season starts up in early June and runs into August. The team is a collection of some of the brightest college baseball stars in the Northeast.
The team is looking for roughly 10 more host families to pair up with some of the players. Host families would house the players, giving them access to their own bedroom, access to a washer and dryer and some food (the players are fed after each game). Players will not need transportation from the host family.
What a fun opportunity for a family with young baseball players to gain exposure to pro prospects! Imagine your kids getting a chance to play catch on a regular basis with an elite college player. Everyone knows baseball players love talking baseball. Your Little Leaguer could get some great batting stance tips from the Bay Sox player you are hosting.
Many local families report that they've had lasting friendships long after the players have moved on and graduated from college.
If you are interested in hosting one of the players, contact Bob Quirk from the Bay Sox at (508) 961-7724.
