I have seen a lot of interesting food creations, but none of them had made me question my eyes quite like one dish did at The Brewhouse District in Fall River.

Nicholas and Ashley Ozug wanted to offer some flair on their menu, so they tapped into the Portuguese culture of Fall River and came up with the Mozambique Chicken Parm, a Portuguese twist on the Italian classic.

As a proud Italian, I had my doubts, but I’ll never say no to a hot meal.

What Is Mozambique Chicken Parm?

At a glance, the Brewhouse original looks like a standard chicken and pasta meal, but when the aroma of Mozambique and chourico hit me, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect.

“We wanted to give a Portuguese/Fall River spin to a traditional Chicken Parm, so instead of the marinara, we toss it in our homemade Mozambique sauce with ground chourico,” said Nicholas.

I will start by saying that nothing can replace my love for traditional Chicken Parmesan, but I will follow that up by saying The Brewhouse District has something tasty and different on their hands.

The chicken was tender and blanketed in the tasty Mozambique sauce. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the chourico gave an extra bite of flavor.

The Mozambique Parm is original and a great representation of what guests can expect from the kitchen at Brewhouse.
