The mother of the 4-year-old boy killed in a house fire in Westport is speaking out about that night.

Melody Nardillo spoke to WCVB from her room at Rhode Island Hospital on Tuesday and as NBC10 reports, she is clearly still recovering from emotional and physical wounds.

No word on how long both Melody and her daughter, Bella, will have to remain in the hospital, but donations to help the family get back on their feet can be made through GoFundMe and YouCaring.

Nardillo's landlords have yet to be reached and investigators are still trying to determine what started the blaze that destroyed the home on Mouth Pleasant Street and took the life of 4-year-old Caleb Nardillo.
