A man spent the night in an anchored boat in Kingston after the tide became threatening.

According to Wcvb, a missing kayaker was found by the Coast Guard on Tuesday. The man was found alive after missing for a day.

Michael Rafferty is 43 and lives in Kingston. Before missing he was seen leaving his home with his kayak. He went to the Jones River at 4:20 p.m. on Monday.

The Coast Guard said that he was reported missing by his girlfriend when he had not gone home Monday night.

The mans family was relieved when he was found alive on Tuesday. Michael told them that he was stuck when the tide had gone out. He spent the night on an anchored boat.

Those who had searched for Michael include a Coast Guard Air Station of Cape Cod helicopter, the Massachusetts State Police, and harbormasters in Kingston, Plymouth, and Duxbury.
