RAYNHAM — The victim killed in a crash in Raynham last week in which four other people were also injured has been identified as 28-year-old Matthew Higgins of Middleboro.

That's according to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, which stated that the investigation into the Dec. 7 crash is active and ongoing.

Emergency officials said last week that five people were trapped inside a Ram pickup truck when it hit a traffic light pole at Rt. 44 and Paramount Drive early Wednesday morning.

Fire crews extricated the people inside the truck, but Higgins was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other men and two women were rushed to various hospitals with serious injuries.

Officials said no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

In Higgins' obituary, his family writes that he enjoyed fishing, playing video games, pool and corn hole, and golfing.

He was also an avid sports fan and loved music, his animals, and spending time with his family, including his nieces and nephews, according to the obituary.
