Middleboro’s Boston Tavern Being Purchased by Brack’s Grille & Tap
MIDDLEBORO (WBSM) — One of the worst-kept secrets on the local restaurant scene has now been confirmed.
Brack’s Grille & Tap is purchasing the Boston Tavern in Middleboro, and will soon re-open it as Brack’s at Boston Tavern. It will bring together two of the most beloved names on the local restaurant scene in one setting.
The Middleborough News Facebook page had the details, stating that owners Christopher “CR” Mather and Frank Brack “have been working on this acquisition for nearly a year, and the deal is expected to close soon, pending final approval of their liquor license by the state.”
It also noted that the two had “been actively involved in the restaurant over the past month, conducting thorough inspections and gathering community input.”
Brack’s has two locations, in Taunton and Brockton, as well as the Brack’s Cafe in Newport, Rhode Island.
They will also soon operate a food truck called Brack’s on Wheels, the Middleborough News reported.

While some might think of Brack’s as offering typical pub fare, the restaurants pride themselves in going beyond what people would expect from their menus.
Brack's offers up innovative recipes as well as good old-fashioned comfort food, all in an Instagram-worthy presentation.

Brack’s also has a strong community presence where each restaurant is located, sponsoring a non-profit cause within that community each Wednesday, giving them 20 percent of all purchases made by the cause’s supporters.
Middleborough News also reported that Brack’s will be keeping the existing Boston Tavern staff but will also be upgrading the restaurant’s signage, kitchen equipment and interior decor.
