Mattapoisett Caterer Chosen to Serve Melissa Etheridge in Plymouth
A Big Opportunity For a SouthCoast Business
A SouthCoast catering company just landed a major opportunity, serving one of the biggest names in music.
On The Go Catering in Mattapoisett was selected to cater for Melissa Etheridge during her recent performance at Plymouth Memorial Hall, and it was no small task.
Owner Corey Lorenco says the opportunity came through a partnership with Spectacle Live, a regional management company that connects artists with local vendors.
What It Takes To Cater For A Major Artist
When it comes to feeding a nationally known performer, the expectations are high.
Etheridge follows a strict diet, requiring pescatarian and vegan options along with fully organic ingredients. Lorenco says the process involved carefully reviewing her rider multiple times to make sure every detail was correct.
What Was On The Menu
Despite the strict guidelines, the team was able to showcase some of their signature dishes.
Fan favorites like steak tips and Statler chicken breast made the menu, along with a fresh cod dish sourced locally. They also prepared a homemade cinnamon raisin bread pudding.
However, some items required extra effort, including specialty organic ingredients, unique dressings, and even organic potato chips without seed oils.
Why This Was Such A Big Deal
Lorenco says the biggest challenge was not just meeting expectations, but exceeding them.
In the past, Etheridge has been known to reject meals that do not meet her standards. This time, Lorenco was proud to report that she did not walk away from the food. Lorenco credits his team’s attention to detail and execution for her positive reaction.
A Growing Reputation On The SouthCoast
This is not the first time On The Go Catering has worked with major acts. The company has also catered for artists like Lyle Lovett and various touring performers across the region.
Being trusted to handle such a detailed and high profile request like Melissa Etheridge is a major point of pride for the Mattapoisett business.
