Experience New Bedford’s Big, Upgraded Airport Before It’s Built [VIDEO]
In case you haven't heard, some significant changes and upgrades are coming to New Bedford Regional Airport.
The five-year plan is about to put the city of New Bedford on the aviation map with a new facility that Cape Air and Southern Airways Express travelers will enjoy as they wait for their planes to arrive.
The city released a video showing virtual plans for the outside and inside of the revitalized airport.
Mayor Jon Mitchell said:
"We’ve been asked what the new terminal at NB Regional Airport will look like. Although the actual design will not be completed until next year, this video will give you a vivid sense of the concept, including the scale, general layout, and orientation of the facility (complete with elevator music). Many thanks to the Baker-Polito Administration for funding this investment, and to Rep. Straus and the Airport Commission for teaming up with us to advocate for it."
The video shows multiple counter kiosks for entering passengers. An elevator will take customers travelers and guests to the second floor to comfortably wait for flights in a spacious lounge and business area.
Lastly, you'll get an amazing view of the tarmac to watch planes land and take off.
