A Massachusetts math teacher says he has cracked the Lizzie Borden murder mystery.

It's been over 100 years since Lizzie Borden was on trial for the murder of her father and stepmother, but now a mathematics professor from Massasoit Community College says he has cracked the case.

In a new book titled "Cold Case To Case Closed" author Richard Little says he has uncovered the real murderer and has the evidence to prove it.

In a recent interview with ABC 6 News, Little says he started studying cold cases back in 2010 and the Lizzie Borden case was one that piqued his interest. He started looking into police records, court papers, and witness testimony and ended up zeroing in on the three prime suspects: Lizzie Borden, the maid, and an uncle who stayed there named John Morse.

59-year-old Morse, Lizzie's uncle and the brother of her birth mother, told police he was visiting his sick relative down the road from the Borden house at the time of the double murder with the town's doctor.

But that same doctor was at the Borden home looking over the bodies at the time Morse says he was with him. So Little says the hole in the alibi added with his livestock business partnership with Lizzie's father makes him the prime suspect.

Apparently the business was falling apart at the time of the murders and Morse had a background as a butcher, making him even more suspicious to Little.

Morse by the way left Fall River after Lizzie was acquitted and never returned. He died at the age of 79.

So do you think Little is on to something here? Could he have solved one of Fall River's most notorious crimes?
