Maura Healey’s Approval Rating Surges 10 Points, New Poll Finds
I've said it before: a poll is a poll is a poll, nothing more than a snapshot of a moment in time. Voters are fickle, and therefore, poll results can be inconsistent and even downright surprising. The only poll results that matter are those tabulated on election day.
Massachusetts' often-embattled Governor Maura Healey's next poll of consequence will be November 3, 2026, when she'll ask voters to give her a second four-year term.
Voter Sentiment Shifts Ahead of 2026
In June of this year, I wrote about the results of a University of New Hampshire poll that indicated fewer than half of Massachusetts voters approve of the job Healey is doing.
The UNH survey found, "Nearly half (49%) of Bay Staters approve of Maura Healey's performance as governor of Massachusetts, 45% disapprove, and 6% neither approve nor disapprove or are unsure."
"Healey's net approval rating is +4, down from +11 in March," the UNH poll reported.
From Criticism to Comeback
Healey has had a plethora of policy faux pas, resulting in billions spent to coddle illegal immigrants, a renewable energy agenda resulting in exploding costs for consumers, and efforts to impose taxes on candy and prescription drugs, among other things.
Most of Democrat Healey's term has been spent under a declaration of a state of emergency with no end date in sight.
But as quickly as voters are to condemn, they can forgive.

The Boston Herald reported that Healey is "having a hot July" with a new poll showing her approval ratings have surged 10 points."
The Herald stated Healey "scored an approval rating of 59% in a new survey published by the business intelligence company Morning Consult, ranking her the 16th-most popular governor based on the data set."
That's quite an uptick.
Healey’s GOP Challengers: Can They Break Through?
Likely Republican primary foes Brian Shortsleeve and Mike Kennealy continue to try to chip away at Healey's numbers. If the most recent poll is accurate, voters are either resigned to a life with Healey or are not hearing enough from Shortsleeve and Kennealy to change their minds.
