Dozens of Democrats decided to boycott President Donald Trump's recent State of the Union Address to a joint session of Congress. U.S. Senator Ed Markey (D-Massachusetts) was among those who boycotted the speech, but Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Massachusetts) was not.

Fox News Digital reported that not only did Warren attend the SOTU, but she was also one of the few Democrats who stood – not once, but twice – to applaud while Trump was speaking.

Why Elizabeth Warren Applauded Trump

Warren first rose to her feet when Trump vowed not to allow Iran to possess a nuclear weapon.

"We are in negotiations with them. They want to make a deal, but we haven't heard those secret words, 'we will never have a nuclear weapon,'" Trump said.

"My preference is to solve this thing through diplomacy," Trump said. "But one thing is certain, I will never allow the world's number one sponsor of terror, which they are by far, to have a nuclear weapon. We can't let that happen."

Warren applauded Trump's pledge as she rose to her feet along with the Republicans in the House Chamber. Later, when Trump called on Congress to "pass the Stop Insider Trading Act without delay," Warren rose to her feet again while applauding the president's words.

Signs of a Changing Relationship?

Mediaite suggested Trump and Warren seem to be hitting it off a lot better these days. "There have been signs that perhaps their relationship is improving," the publication wrote.

Warren said Trump recently called her to talk about his plan for capping credit card interest rates.

A History of Trump and Warren’s Rivalry

Warren and Trump have had a contentious relationship since he first declared his candidacy for president in 2015, with each launching verbal attacks on the other.
