Massachusetts Best Chinese Restaurants 2025
Chinese food is fascinating. Until I went away to school, I thought Chinese food was the same everywhere in the country, but that is definitely not true. I was also amazed to learn that the Chinese food we know isn’t really served in China. Our version has been Americanized to better suit our palates and drive sales.
That being said, it can be hard to pinpoint Chinese restaurants that are superior. What is popular here in Massachusetts may not be popular in Chicago, New York, or L.A. Come to think of it, I guess it’s not unlike pizza in that respect.
We turned to lovefood.com to see what they had to say about the best Chinese restaurants in Massachusetts. The website sorts through genuine online reviews, awards and accolades. We were thrilled to discover that one of the very best in the state is just over an hour away, tucked across the Charles River from Harvard.
The Dumpling House in Cambridge features most of your favorite "Americanized" as well as authentic, Chinese dishes. Not surprisingly, however, it’s the dumplings that keep customers pouring through the doors. Specifically, lovefood.com recommends trying the pork soup dumplings.
Another restaurant mentioned on the lovefood.com list requires a bit more of a commitment. Lili’s Restaurant, located in the college town of Amherst in western Massachusetts, is a small but authentic spot, especially known for its legendary noodles. Students from the five colleges in Amherst rave about them.
