Syriana is a caring 16-year-old girl who uses words like "pretty," "awesome" and "talented artist" to describe herself. Those who know her would describe her as a nice girl who is a little silly and imaginative.

Syriana enjoys being creative and working on art projects, especially painting flowers.

"I think flowers are really beautiful," she said. "They can express how you feel. I think roses represent me most because when I think of a rose, you put them in water, they grow and then they bloom."

Syriana's favorite subjects in school are math, language arts, science and social studies, while she is not as big of a fan of physical education and music. Syriana has shared that when she grows up, she wants to be a role model for others and raise money for those in poverty.

The 16-year-old's three wishes for a family are to respect her, to be nice and to let her choose a name for the family dog. An ideal family for Syriana would be a family with parenting experience.

Syriana is legally freed for adoption and is looking forward to becoming part of an adoptive family.  She would like a dog, the opportunity to take gymnastics and art classes, and would someday love the chance to visit Disney Land and Lego Land.

Syriana shared that she would like a potential adoptive family to know that she is brave but afraid of insects, spiders and worms. Syriana would like a mom, mom and dad, or a two-mom family.

Who Can Adopt?

If you’re at least 18, have a stable source of income and have room in your heart, you may be a perfect match to adopt a waiting child. Adoptive parents can be single, married or partnered; experienced or not; renters or homeowners; LGBTQ+ singles and couples. As an adoptive parent, you won’t have to pay any fees. Adoption from foster care is completely free in Massachusetts.

The process to adopt a child from foster care includes training, interviews and home visits to determine if adoption is right for you. These steps will help match you with a child or sibling group that will be a good fit.
