Most Common Reasons Massachusetts Cars Are in the Shop
How long do you drive around with the "check engine" light on before you finally make an appointment to bring the car into the shop for a look-see?
Given the current economic times and the fear of unanticipated expenses, it may take a while. Sometimes you might hope it was a computer failure and the light will go off. It's like turning up the radio to mask an unwanted "clink" or "clank" from the old clunker.
Eventually, we all wind up at the garage, but hopefully for planned visits that have been budgeted.

United Tire & Service says, "Ignoring car maintenance will increase the risk of mechanical failure and costly repairs." The best place to start is by changing your car's oil on schedule.
Mass Auto Repair Shops says an oil change is the most common reason your buggy will visit the repair shop.
Other common problems that result in garage visits include brake pad replacement, air filter replacement, tire replacement, battery replacement, spark plug replacement, serpentine belt replacement, radiator repair or replacement, fuel cap replacement and oxygen sensor replacement.
Heath's Auto Service says Massachusetts is among the 13 states where drivers are most likely to experience a dead battery. Rhode Island is among the six states where drivers get the most flat tires.
I can testify to that, having hit a crater on Blackstone Boulevard in Providence that cost me two tires.
Connecticut is one of four states known for its abundance of fender-benders.
