March 2020 SouthCoast Teacher of the Month Winner [VIDEO]

Congratulations to Fun 107's SouthCoast Teacher of the Month for March 2020. Thank you to our sponsor, ProGroup Contracting, for helping to make this school classroom even better.

Mrs. Murphy is a second-grade teacher at the Potter Elementary School in Dartmouth who received an amazing nomination for the SouthCoast Teacher of the Month Contest in February. Needless to say, our sponsor ProGroup Contracting was seriously impressed after reading about all the wonderful work she's done and we couldn't agree more.

Now, normally, we would go into the classrooms, but due to the current situation with schools being closed for the time being, the Rock & Fox Show decided to jump on the digital wagon and send a video to our winning recipient (see video above).

A perfect example of how we are practicing social distancing within our community.

Although we encourage just a single nomination letter for our outstanding teachers, this time we received two submissions just for Mrs. Murphy alone to Fun 107.

The first submission reads as follows:

"While the schools are closed during this pandemic, Mrs. Murphy made lawn signs for all her students. On Sunday, March 22^nd, she drove to each child's house and stuck the sign on their lawns so they could see it when they woke up. One side said the child's name and that she missed them. The other side said something sweet. She gave them some happiness and hope. She gave me some happiness and hope. She is an amazing person that should be recognized as such."

And then there was this one:

"During the break from school due to the coronavirus, Mrs. Murphy made lawn signs for each of her students individually with a personal message on both sides to promote positivity. She went around Sunday night and stuck them in the lawns of all her students for them to wake up to a surprise from her. She had also been video conferencing with them as well to keep up to date and connected. This is truly going above and beyond."

Congratulations to Mrs. Murphy and everyone over at the Potter Elementary School who work so hard each and every day to make a fun learning environment for all our kids.

If your child’s teacher is one of those amazing human beings that goes above and beyond for their students and deserves some recognition this year, nominate him or her for the Teacher of the Month award. They may be as lucky as Mrs. Murphy.
