The Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section added a man with Fall River ties to their most wanted list today.

75-year-old John Munroe was arrested by Fall River police in September on child rape and other charges. He was placed on a court-ordered GPS monitoring device prior to his trial, but intentionally removed the device and fled in late October.

Now the state police have added him to their most wanted list.

According to police, Munroe gained the trust of a family over a period of several years and was eventually allowed to babysit their 10-year-old daughter. He then allegedly assaulted the young girl on numerous occasions before being arrested.

He fled on or around October 23rd and his vehicle was later found in Hull, MA.

Munro is described as a white man, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing approximately 250 pounds. He has gray hair, blue eyes and a light complexion. He has been know to wear a mustache and glasses. He also has a tattoo on his right forearm depicting a green, growling dog's head with a collar.

Anyone with information about Munroe's whereabouts or who thinks they see him should call the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section at 1-800-KAPTURE (1-800-527-8873).
