Not having cigarettes got a man stabbed in Fall River this week.

The victim in the case told police that a woman approached him in Ruggles Park on Monday night and asked to bum a cigarette. When he told her he didn't have any, she started punching him in the face, then stepped back, took out a small knife and cut his face.

The victim was later interviewed by police at Charlton Memorial Hospital.

According to the Standard Times, police are still looking for the female attacker and are asking the public for help. Anyone with information can contact the Fall River Police Department’s Major Crimes Division at 508-324-2796, or contact the police department’s anonymous tips line at 508-672-TIPS.
