Lizzo Isn’t the Only ‘Juicy’ Singer [WICKED OR WHACK?]
This past year had a few female rappers break through and really bring us some of the hottest tracks of the year. The biggest breakthrough female rapper, of course, was Lizzo. You may not have heard of this other rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer, but she has been in the game since 2014.
Her legal name is Amala Zandile Dlamini or we can just call her by her stage name, Doja Cat. She first started posting her music on SoundCloud and eventually got herself a YouTube channel and became a viral sensation.
She did hit some controversy when it was discovered she had written some tweets that contained homophobic slurs. Apparently that didn't slow her down, because this past summer she dropped her hottest track to date, "Juicy," featuring Tyga – not to be confused with Lizzo's track of the same name.
Doja Cat just dropped an album back on November 7. It's her second studio album and features Gucci Mane and Tyga, to name a few.
Doja Cat apparently gets her inspiration from artists like Nicki Minaj and Pharrell. Will she be the Lizzo of 2020? I guess that's really up to you. If you didn't hear her single on Fun 107, take a listen to it here. Now I do have to warn you this version is not the clean version so this is NSFW:
Thoughts? I mean she is a little different, right? Did you see the number of views the song has? Over 60 million! Do you think she has what it takes to break through in 2020?
Vote on whether Doja Cat should be added to the Fun 107 playlist. Is it wicked good or totally whack?
