Over the weekend, I went to the coolest event, a cheese festival! It was called 'Let's Talk About Cheese' and it was held at the Boston Globe.

It was actually a very last minute decision to go to this cheese festival and I didn't even know it existed until Saturday morning. I woke up in the middle of the night Saturday, to find a text from my friend Jonathan that said 'bostonglobe.com/cheese, wanna go?' I thought I was dreaming...then I clicked on the website and saw that it was a cheese fest! I love cheese, a lot, more than a normal person I think...but he certainly loves cheese more than me, that's what I learned on Saturday at this cheese fest.

We bought our tickets online for $40 each, and with that came all the cheese you could eat, free wine, free water, and free parking! I thought for sure the $40 was just for the cheese, and that everything else would be extra, but no, what a great deal! I made the mistake of eating breakfast before I went though...and because of that I wasn't able to eat all that much cheese. My friend went in with basically an empty stomach and he ate enough cheese for about three people.

The cheese fest was mostly full of people that probably consider themselves 'cheese connoisseurs'. Everyone seemed serious and wanted to learn about the cheeses and how they were made, which I guess makes sense, since the event was called 'Let's Talk About Cheese'. That's not what we wanted to do though, we were just there to eat, we walked in and started demolishing cheese. It was amazing, I called it 'Heaven on Earth'. There were hundreds of different kinds of cheeses, each table was a different country's cheese. I learned that I'm not a big fan of soft cheese, I definitely prefer hard cheese. The only downfall to this event was that I had to leave a lot of cheese behind! I just got too full, too soon. As a self-proclaimed cheese lover, this was a really fun (and tasty) event!
