The all-new second location of the Bad Martha Brewery is set to open this Friday, September 6. They have a location in Edgartown on the island and now their East Falmouth Farmer's Brewery & Tasting Room is located at 867 East Falmouth right off of Route 28.

This is going to be a must-visit location. They have a 15-barrel brewing system so all the brewing is done on-site. They will have food items available including cheese and charcuterie plates as we well as specialty artisan pizzas.

To make sure they keep the chill island brewery vibe, they will have outdoor games and live music. You can also score some Bad Martha merchandise at their apparel store.

A visit to a brewery wouldn't be complete without being able to take home a four-pack or even fill up a growler.

I love the Bad Martha "story." They basically ret-conned the real-life discovery of Martha's Vineyard by English captain Bartholomew Gosnold to include him seeking out ingredients to make beer, and finding them through the help of a beautiful mermaid. It may not be historically accurate, but it's certainly fun.

As more and more breweries are popping up around our area, it's good to see that they're incorporating not only local flavors, but also local history, into their beers and into their stories.

The best part is this spot in Falmouth will be open year-round. So now I've got figure out who I'm going to take to check out this spot. They better have a few IPAs for me to try.

Let me know if you are thinking about going. Sounds like a weekend must!
