The 4th of July is right around the corner, this Saturday, as a matter of fact. In case you weren't aware, since the 4th falls on a Saturday this year, the federal holiday is on Friday, July 3. So, get ready for a three-day weekend of fun and festivities.

While on the topic of festivities, people throughout Massachusetts will be viewing fireworks displays, attending parades, and hosting or attending picnics. Speaking of picnics, that's one of the festivities I always look forward to. What can I say? I love food. My wife and I will typically invite some folks over and grill up hot dogs, hamburgers, and chow down on her delicious chili. It's to die for.

We're usually well prepared for our July 4th meal, but if you are doing something similar and forget an item or ingredient, and you don't realize it until this Saturday, no sweat. While some retailers may be closed for the Independence Day holiday, Walmart will be open with its normal hours of 6 am - 11 pm. Keep in mind that the pharmacy may have limited hours.

So if you forget a package of hot dog buns, a bottle of mustard, or a jar of relish, you can diffuse your stress by knowing Walmart is there to the rescue. Whether you shop at Walmart in Pittsfield, North Adams, Springfield, Worcester, or any of the dozens upon dozens of stores in the Bay State, the retailer will be there waiting for you in case you need to grab a last-minute item for your holiday picnic festivities. Now, let's eat.
