If You Ever Wanted to Play Annie, Here Is Your Chance
I can just imagine the excitement and nerves at the Zeiterion Theatre this Saturday when the New Bedford Festival Theatre auditions for America's favorite musical, Annie.
I know little girls across the SouthCoast are just dreaming of the chance to play one of the most iconic young characters to ever hit the stage.
I recall my stint with New Bedford Festival Theatre in the early 2000s. It is an absolutely wonderful program that really showcases the local talent that lives right here on the SouthCoast. The group of producers and professionals that put these shows on know how to bring out the best in each and every cast member.
I know, you don't want to hear about me, you just want to know about the auditions.
The audition for all little girl roles including Annie will be held at the Zeiterion on Saturday, January 25 starting at 10:30 a.m.
Saturday morning you can enter the stage door located at the rear of the Zeiterion building on Acushnet Avenue and be sure to arrive at 10:15 a.m. for registration.
Then on Sunday, January 26 starting at 10:30 a.m., there will be auditions for adults and the same info applies.
Make sure you bring an 8”x10” headshot and resumé; be prepared to sing a song from the show or your best vocal performance showing range, and also be prepared for a dance audition. Yes, bring character and taps shoes.
All those auditioning must be eight years old or older and parents will not be allowed to watch auditions or callbacks.
For the latest information on auditions, you can visit the Facebook event page.
